Refund Policy

SafeChecker ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to customer satisfaction. This Refund Policy explains the conditions under which refunds may be requested for our background check and verification services. Please read this policy carefully before placing an order.
Eligibility for Refunds
Refunds may be considered in the following circumstances:
- Duplicate orders: If you accidentally submitted the same verification request more than once, we will refund the duplicate charge upon verification.
- Service failure: If our platform or a third-party verification source failed to deliver a report through no fault of your own (e.g., technical outage, provider unavailability), we will refund the fee for that specific check.
Non-Refundable Situations
Refunds are generally not provided in the following cases:
- Completed verifications: Once a background check has been initiated and a report has been generated or delivered, the fee is non-refundable. The cost covers the work performed and access to third-party databases.
- Candidate withdrawal: If a candidate withdraws consent or does not complete the verification process after you have placed an order, the fee is non-refundable.
- Results not as expected: We do not refund based on the content or outcome of a report (e.g., if the candidate has a criminal record or negative credit history). Our service is to provide accurate information; we do not guarantee any particular result.
- Change of mind: Refunds are not offered simply because you no longer need the verification or have changed your hiring decision.
How to Request a Refund
To request a refund, please contact us within 14 days of the charge date:
- Send an email to billing@safechecker.ca with the subject line "Refund Request"
- Include your account email, the order or transaction reference, and a brief explanation of why you believe a refund is warranted
- We will review your request and respond within 5 business days
- If approved, refunds are processed within 10 business days to the original payment method
Subscription and Volume Plans
For clients on subscription or volume-based plans:
- Monthly subscription fees are generally non-refundable. You may cancel your subscription at any time; cancellation will take effect at the end of the current billing period.
- Prepaid packages or credits are non-refundable once purchased. Unused credits may be used for future verifications within the validity period specified in your agreement.
- Enterprise or custom agreements may have different terms; please refer to your contract.
Modifications
We may update this Refund Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy. For significant changes, we may notify you by email.
